Australian-owned pet retailer, Petstock, has grown from one Tasmanian store to servicing pet owners across the state by adding Animal Tuckerbox to it’s stable. As part of the state-wide expansion, Petstock will also be opening a new store, Petstock Glenorchy, creating employment opportunities for local casual and part time workers.

This announcement highlights Petstock’s commitment to servicing pet owners across the country and expanding opportunity for its dedicated supply partners.

The Animal Tuckerbox business will continue to operate and service its loyal customer base, with Petstock eventually expanding Animal Tucker Box’s list of existing products and services through the addition of grooming, DIY dog wash and puppy school.

Petstock first made its mark in Tasmania more than five years ago when it opened Petstock Launceston to provide essential services and products to the community, including grooming, puppy school, pet ID personalisation, H20 water testing and general pet supplies.

Petstock Managing Director, David Young, says the family-owned business is looking forward to expanding its footprint in Tasmania as part of its wider strategy to deliver its ever-growing portfolio of services and products to new and existing customers.

“When Petstock Launceston first opened, the store received an overwhelming amount of support from the local community and has continued to build lasting relationships with its customers, so when we received the opportunity to expand further throughout the state, we knew it was the right decision for the business,” says David.

“We’re excited to continue the legacy that the dedicated team at Animal Tuckerbox has established here in Tasmania. We hope to build upon the community that each store has creating by continuing to provide exceptional customer service and education to local pet owners.

“We will be welcoming 70 staff members from Animal Tuckerbox to the Petstock family. We know that each Team Member shares the same values and love for animals as we do, and they’ll play an essential role in bringing our vision to life.

“In addition to expanding existing services, each store will support local organisations, such as rescue groups, by providing them with free instore space, temporary or permanent, for our PETadopt program where adoptable pets can find forever families in a convenient and friendly environment.”

The acquisition now sees the family-owned business secure a store in every major city across the country.
